The unique experience of such mass combat in the game adds a real sense of real life warfare. Arma 3 has a large following with players returning to the game again and again with updates released all the time keeping the game fresh.
If you are a fan of the hardcore battle simulation Escape from Tarkov then Arma 3 is perfect for you. The only aspect you may be missing out on is the looting and exploration.
If you are interested in the crafting and exploration side of Escape from Tarkov then check out Rust. In Rust you join teams of other players and go about raiding bases of your enemies. You must also collect resources (or steal them from the enemy bases) to craft better tools and weapons. Building a base yourself is important and a skill that you will quickly learn to master.
The game continues to keep a large audience after all these years and is available on Steam.
If you like smaller, more personal warfare games then Counter Strike: Global Offensive could be right for you. In this game you start out with a budget to spend on weaponry and equipment. You must spend your funds wisely and equip yourself properly for the battle ahead. In CS:GO you will find yourself playing as either terrorist or counter-terrorist defending or capturing hostages. CS:GO does lack the large scale maps of Escape From Tarkov though and is a lot older game.
You can pick the game up for a relatively cheap price now on Steam. Check out the reviews as well, they have stuck in the Very Positive area for many years.
