Viruz Mod is a brand new plugin based on the popular DayZ mod. It puts a focus on the apocalypse aspect with players having to work with and against each other. To avoid the zombies that lurk across the land waiting to prey on unsuspecting players. Much like DayZ and the other Arma 3 Mods, they all benefit from the use of third party hosting. This is because mods tend to be unfinished or need a high spec computers to run the server itself. Arma 3: Viruz Mod server hosting is now available for the Arma 3 community to rent. You can get the configs from the server provider or download the via the steam app or website. Or you can choose to rent from a dedicated provider. This is an easier option as they will sort all the configs for you.
Although the game now has zombies running around the map and you will need to work extra hard to survive. The game pulls all the best content from the source game. Meaning that players will still have access to all the weapons and vehicles that are in Arma 3. This means that you and your team are not dropped in the middle of no where with very few supplies like DayZ. Instead you have plenty of opportunities to contain the spread of the virus. Although it’s better to work as a team to help rid the world of zombies.
Since Arma 3 was released in 2013 there has also be many other mods. These include:
If you would like more information on any of the those mods then we would suggest visiting the Bohemia Interactive website. There you will have access to all the latest news and updates that the company release.
If you prefer a more serious style FPS game than Viruz Mod then check out Squad. The game is fairly new and is getting some rave reviews on Steam about the quality of the game-play and visuals. Squad does have a few negative comments mainly about the game not working at all, these should be easy to fix if the issues are more about being supported on certain hardware.
Much like Arma 3, Squad is a huge warfare simulator with massive player counts on a server with vehicles and team based goals.
This lack of players in the previous game compared to the new one is a brilliant sign that the developers have managed to go in the right direction. Sometimes with games you will see a large audience of players stick with an old version due to not being happy with the changes by developers.
For the most ultimate war simulator developed with the US Army try America’s Army Proving Grounds. This strategy based FPS was designed to train soldiers outside of the field in the art of war, without putting lives at unnecessary risk.
The game still has a few hundred concurrent players at any one time and fills a niche that many other games cannot.
DayZ Standalone was the original zombie genre to be released by Bohemia Interactive. With focus on survival and wondering the map trying to avoid zombies and other players. Which is slightly different to the Viruz Mod because there are a lot less zombies in this game. Instead players are more worried about wondering around servers. In which players will often encounter over players that have their own intentions.
So it’s up to you to use your instinct and skill to survive. As you are never sure if other players online are friend or foe.
Looking for another DLC add on in the Arma 3 Series? Why not try out Altis Life. This DLC is one of the most popular in the series and offers players a chance to live in a community setting. You can choose to do many things in Altis Life including a career with the police or acting as part of the community. You can own shops and take part in many activities, including racing and sailing.
Although if you are not in to obeying the rules then you can choose to take up a life of crime. Opting to instead steal, sell illegal narcotics and join gangs.
