Fistful of Frags offers you the old school ways to experience shooting, in a very fun, refined and cool way. It has lots of game modes and it offers some extraordinary multiplayer madness. Shooting is great and satisfying in this game. But what makes it very good is the fact that it has a very large community that’s active and which plays very often. You are bound to like the way this game is played and the immense amount of fun that you get from giving it a shot. If you are a fan of old school shooters with a great twist, this is a great investment.
The game revolves around a few key features that can be seen in other games, but it has a wild west theme. During the rounds players are tasked with collecting loot crates that contain money. Although this won’t be easy as other players are also trying to grab the crates for themselves. Money and notoriety points are the key currency in this game, as they buy equipment for players. Which include weapons and perks that will help you win. You can collect coins and points by killing enemies and collecting crates. For added bonuses you can also earn a few extra notoriety from covering your allies. Although this is not the most efficient way to progress though the game. Each player starts with 25 points at the start of each round. So the more points you get the more points you start with in the next round. All though developers claim this is an original idea. We also see this system in games like Counter Strike.
The main reason they created this system was to make the game a lot fairer. As players are doing damage they get points, unlike other games that award the person who gets the kill. This means that there is a fairer disruption of in game wealth making the game more user friendly. Although this annoyed some players, the majority of the community like this system. It also means that lower ranking players get more points for higher ranking games. Which is a very fair ranking system, unique to this game.
The original development of the game saw two games combined together. This was because a developer that was working on another game called Outlaws & Lawmen. Had fallen out with their co-workers resulting in them leaving with their code. This resulted in the combining of much of a different code with the existing Fistful of Frags code. The game was also created as a mod for Half Life, as developers used the Valve Source Engine.
The game currently only gets about 300 players daily. But don’t let that put you off. Because we have had many users buy their Fistful of Frags server hosting though our site. So there will be players online that are ready to go toe to toe with you in the wild west.
If your looking for other mods that use the source engine then why not check out The Ship. This game is a mystery murder party in which you will play one of many characters trying to find a murderer, but watch out because while you are hunting for your target someone else is hunting you. The game uses a lot of the original source engine mechanics including the physics. So you may already be more accustomed to the game than you may first think.
The Ship is great to play online with friends and there has even been a HD remake of the game, this was released a few years ago.
Much like Fistful of Frags, Half Life 2: Deathmatch focuses heavily on combat and skill. Choose one of the classic characters from the HL2 game and jump online with this great FPS. You can either play in a last man standing game mode or working in teams. Their are also a few object based game modes that have been added in to the game to keep things fresh.
Deathmatch was created back in early 2000 after the popularity of Half Life 2 skyrocketed. With the game actually coming out several weeks after the single player. Fans demanded a multiplayer version and Valve listened.
