Kerbal Space Program is one of those games you play if you want to feel like a rocket scientist. While you might feel like one, it’s a lot more fun than being one it sounds like. By giving the player the option to create their own rocket to the stars, there’s a lot of variation for each idea. You can never run out of ideas and you can never run out of Kerbals! Just by trying to get one rocket perfect, you might end up losing an entire afternoon. Although, in this game, that’s a considerable compliment, that’s for sure.

Away with Words MK-II

There are 2 somewhat major changes that have been made to the game, but let’s start with the minor one to begin with. On the 7th March 2018, the Away with Words MK-II update was made available. What this change did initially was localisation for French, German, Italian, and Portugese-Brazillian. Alongside the addition of language support, there is also some new content as well. The biggest one being the Kerbal personal parachute. Any Kerbal level 3 or above will have one of these and is fully steerable. This means you can finally get some of your favourite Kerbals out of some tight situations. Then, on top of this, there are 3 new parts and replacements for a dozen existing parts, with the inclusion of the Mk 1-3 pod.

What could be considered the biggest change in the game is the new expansion. Named the Making History expansion, this DLC adds plenty to play with for Kerbal Space Program fans. A massive feature for the game is the new mission builder that allows you to create your own ideal scenarios. These missions can be customised in a number of different ways, such as launching, landing, rescues, malfunctions, and so much more. Basically, if you can think of anything, then you can create your own missions with their own goals or restrictions.

There are also some pre-made missions to play through, many of which have been inspired. Inspired by true historical moments in space exploration through the years. With the main change being the funky twist of the Kerbals and all of their ridiculousness. A whopping 70 new parts have been added to the game, so you can create even new variances of your favourite rocket ship. A nice surprise for anyone who bought the game during its initial release window of April 2013 will receive the expansion for free.

As of right now, that’s all the developers have in mind for the game, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have more in mind. Kerbal Space Program is progressively getting bigger and better, and this isn’t going to be the last expansion, not in the slightest!
